about us
you shouldn't have to search endlessly for a matcha that isn't bitter.
i started origami because coffee kept breaking its promises. right when i needed to think clearly, there was a spike, then a crash. as a student, this cycle was constant. when i reached for caffeine, what i wanted wasn't more energy. i wanted a calm, steady focus i could actually work in.
matcha gave me that. and it made me want to build something around it.

intention, in every crease.
in origami, every fold requires patience and exactness. we bring the same philosophy to tea. from shading the leaves to stone-milling every batch, at origami, matcha is a quiet art form designed to bring calm and balance to your day.
rooted in wazuka.
we partner directly with farmers in kyoto's wazuka region to source single-cultivar matcha that's hand-harvested, shade-grown, and milled in small batches for unmatched flavor and texture.
- shaded for sweetness our tea plants are shaded before harvest, unlocking deep umami, bright green color, and a delicate, natural sweetness.
- zero bitterness stone-milled with paper-thin precision so every bowl whisked is silky smooth from the very first sip.
- uncompromising sourcing small-batch releases crafted for purity, freshness, and consistency
a wider table.
tea isn't one culture's story. long before matcha found its way here, yaupon, the only naturally caffeinated plant native to north america, was already being brewed for focus and ritual. we bring both to the table.
